Great news! The City has launched the Philadelphia Free Business Tax Preparation program.
The program offers free business tax preparation assistance —local, state, and federal—to small businesses earning less than $250,000 in revenue. Services are available both virtually and in person through selected tax professionals across the city who speak multiple languages.
This program is administered by the Department of Commerce.
Business eligibility
Eligible businesses must:
- Be based in Philadelphia (must have a business address, or if homebased must live in Philadelphia)
- Have earned revenue of $250,000 or less in previous tax year
Note: Nonprofits, landlords, and property rental businesses are not eligible for this program.

All applicants will be asked to provide:
- Previous year’s business revenue.
- General business and contact information.
- Information on how you track your expenses.
The application takes about 10 minutes to complete. Applications received after October 30, 2026, will be matched in January 2027. The program provides business owners with back-year tax preparation assistance as needed.

Q: Is the program free for businesses?

Program availability will be based on overall funding and demand.
